hello. hi. i will not be walking you, dear reader, through an overview of the last decade. i have grown weary of explaining myself and much has taken place for the entire globe, from 2016 to 2026. we are certainly in a different world now than we were then, and we are moving towards a much different world, than we are in right now.
the platforms that were once spaces of free and open social connection across the world, have turned into spaces of hyper-consumption, competition, and weaponized mass surveillance. i no longer want to share my creative spirit and labor with megalomaniac oligarchs, who are training ai models off our artistic expressions, emotions, and personal interactions. i have no desire to participate in reductive venues that demand we turn ourselves into palatable brands to maintain market relevancy and thus, worth, under patriarchy. i unsubscribe and withhold my energy from the mass psychosis of aspirational capitalism (colonialism in a shiny mask).
returning to a simple blog format is one part of a broader re-orientation towards a more intimate, sovereign, secure, analog, and mindfully paced life. it allows for a thread of maintained connection, without being forced onto platforms built to exploit, ensnare, and entrap us. it is a personal practice in “less is more” whilst continuing to publicly document the era we are living through, real time, which feels important.
for this blog, and all the work on my websites: there is no subscribe button, no collecting of your email, no newsletter or course to sign up for, and there is certainly no fee. we are collectively fatigued from being turned into products, which is taking a toll on our well being and our soul spirits. whatever happened to sharing art and philosophizing about the quandary’s of existence, just for the joy and dialectic of it? not for the profit or personal pr.
