October 22, 2013: Aries Moon...

...was on a mission.

Wasting no time.
Straight to business.
Tuned to the manifestation station.
Rearing his ram horns, "Evolution, bitch. You think shifting the paradigm into the new world is all unicorns and glitter? Now dig till you hit the core!"

Well...
Fine.
Good thing I carry my own shovel.

October 17, 2013: Poison Oak and Capitalism

Parallels.

Terribly insidious.
Attractive on the surface...a horror under closer examination.
Rubs off to develop in secret, silently spreading it's infectiousness upon all it comes in contact with.
Growing beyond its sustainable limits, like a parasite, killing the host in a short-sighted slow death kamikaze mission.
Seemingly omnipresent...yet not impossible to destroy.

I've had luck avoiding the former and am working to liberate myself from the latter.

October 16, 2013: Punked by Kafka

So, 16 days later the government decided to turn back on.

I feel our country is being Punked by Kafka and Orwell. Just two little macabre and melancholy angels hiding behind a bush with (G)od, watching their elaborate prank unfold.

You guys can come out now.
We get it.
You were right.
Haha. Cute.
Now make it stop.

--------------------------

Still,
the sun rises
and sets.
Until it swallows us whole.
And repeat.

There's comfort in infinite finality.

October 14, 2013: Global Genocide Day

This country would celebrate the exploits of an international serial killer, child rapist, and heartless thief with a poor sense of direction.

Fuck Columbus Day.
Mean it.
Not sorry.

October 9, 2013: Gypsy Essentials - Lesson #2

Be your own apothecary.

- Knife (crucial)
- Food that doesn't suck (because where you will find your next meal is always a mystery)
- Cayenne pepper (Fall is upon us, girl's traveling solo and gotta keep warm somehow)
- Ginger (ditto)
- Himalayan Salt (more uses than you think)
- Bee pollen (like honey but without the sticky backpack)

Not pictured:
- Spirulina
- Astaxanthin
- Chia seed
- Cacao
- Gan mao ling
- Lavender oil
- And an admittedly excessive selection of teas

"Wait, wait?!" You may be saying.

"Lesson #1 was to rock just one bag. Food, herbs, and knifes take up space! Now I am confused." You may be thinking.

Solution: Prioritize. I choose to lug around multiple algae supplements: blue-green and red rather than multiple pairs of pants: blue, green, and red. Black tights do just fine.

I value my nervous system more than the consumerist system.

October 8, 2013: Gypsy Essentials - Lesson #1

One bag.

Make it fit.
All of it.
No purse + personal item + carry-on+ check-in + clutch + shoulder bag + fanny pack + camera bag.
This isn't TSA, Mademoiselle, this is the open road. Turbulence will occur and you best be ready to grab and go.
Seriously.

Travels through time.
Train cars, black dresses, and black pearls.
Memories of pasts passed down via blood and legend.
Elegance and runaways.

October 4, 2013: New Moon

Wild and merciless winds.
Bits of tree carcasses strewn across every path.
Stripping slices of warmth from skin and soul.
Fueling fires far away...
...but still close enough to haunt daydreams.

Transition
Out of Summer*.
Into (The) Fall.
